Amanda is originally from Indiana. Her family moved to Illinois when she was in the 6th grade, and she grew up in the Bartonville Area. Amanda originally moved to Chillicothe to get a small-town living feeling with large city amenities close by. She said she also picked Chillicothe for the excellent school system for her girls. She has twin daughters that graduated from I.V.C.

Her background is in graphic design, marketing, and business coaching. Amanda has been working for the city since May of 2019. Her two main focuses of her position are Business Attraction & Retention and Marketing & Tourism.

Amanda’s job duties and responsibilities are monumental and include; keeping in contact with over 200 businesses, organizations, and contacts, writing and processing grants, promoting city events, sending out press releases, working with the Mayor, city attorney, EDC chair, and city staff on city initiatives. It takes a team effort to get projects completed through the city and she is grateful for the city’s team atmosphere to make it happen.

Many of the other duties are appearing before civic and business groups, communicating with developers, attending media events, and attending City Council meetings, Economic Development Committee meetings, and Marketing & Tourism Commission meetings.

In addition, Amanda has five financial budgets to analyze and keep track of each month. She is also an expert at applications regarding the TIF, Enterprise Zone, HELP loans, and other business incentive programs. These are just some of the duties of our very efficient Economic Developer. Amanda urges people who are thinking about starting up a business in Chillicothe to come see her first, so she can start helping from the ground up.

Presently we have two new businesses starting up in town soon. Just Fix It that will service and repair computers, tablets, and phones and will be located on 2nd St. and Chill ’n Juice, a drive-through on 4th St. featuring juices and smoothies as well as some other treats.

Amanda belongs to the Optimist’s club, the Rotary club, Women in Leadership and is a board member for the Town Theatre. She is also a yoga teacher at Pearce Community Center since October 2002. She is a Chamber of Commerce Board member and attends Greater Peoria Economic Development Council meetings.

Whatever she’s doing, whether personal or professional, she is always trying to help make Chillicothe a better place to live, work, and play. Amanda has a wonderful outlook on life that is contagious. She loves people, and looks forward to every day as being a gift. She loves the small-town charm of the city and its people and all it has to offer…walking or biking to work, visiting the local businesses, having lunch in one of the quaint restaurants, or taking in a movie at our historic Town Theatre on the weekends are some of her favorite things to do. She realized very quickly that the closeness of the town is apparent as you get out, mingle, and participate in all the local activities offered.

Amanda’s vision for Chillicothe is that the city continues to grow and thrive and for everyone to experience the sweetness that small town living provides.

Amanda Beadles is an asset to the town of Chillicothe and we are fortunate to have her on the team that is guiding our town’s direction.
