Empowering High School Sophomores: Rotary Youth Leadership Academy

The Rotary Club of Chillicothe is seeking help in identifying sophomore leaders in IVC District 321 to sponsor for Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA). RYLA in District 6460 is a leadership development academy for high school students who make an impact on their school and community. The program develops leaders and encourages them to build connections and teamwork skills with peers from both in their community and in other countries.

When: After school Friday, April 12th to noon Sunday, April 14th

Where: Lake Williamson Christian Center, Carlinville, Illinois

Who: High school sophomores who…

  • Possess leadership skills or potential
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn
  • Show an interest in improving their community and the world at large
  • Are recommended by peers, school staff, Interact Club, or Rotarians
  • Do not have to be in an existing leadership position or involved in a lot of other clubs/organizations already

At RYLA, students come to understand that no two leaders are alike. Whether they exude boldness, quiet strength, unwavering support, or infectious enthusiasm, the spectrum of leadership qualities is extensive. The objective is to leave students feeling empowered in their leadership abilities while embracing their distinctive leadership styles.
