The Chillicothe Voice

Letter from the Editor - June 2022

Jun 01, 2022 04:15PM ● By Ginny Molleck, Editor
My husband, Dave, and I moved to Chillicothe in 1997 so that our three boys could attend IVC High School. IVC offered the vocational “hands on” classes that other schools didn’t offer. And now, 25 years later, all three boys bought homes in Chillicothe and this community truly is our family’s “hometown.”

Our publishing business first started in 1997 in our home in Chillicothe. We eventually moved our business out of our home and over the years we produced many different publications including Healthy Cells Magazine, 50 Plus News & Views and the Festival of Lights guide for East Peoria.

In 2018 we bought our current building located at 2001 E. Hartman Road. Since moving our business back to Chillicothe, we became more aware of different events and businesses by getting more involved with the community. Over the past year, several people have mentioned the need for a better local newspaper. After joining the Optimist Club, the Chillicothe Town Theatre board, and the Chamber of Commerce, the need was apparent, so we decided to start the Chillicothe Hometown Voice.

Over the past few months while preparing this premiere issue, the support and enthusiasm from the community has been overwhelming. The advertisers said yes to this issue on blind faith that we would create this much needed “voice” for the community and their support is evident in this first issue. This is offered FREE to you by their financial support, so please be sure to thank them.

We encourage you to submit your ideas, stories, and announcements. Over the next few weeks, we will be adding a website, www.ChillicotheVoice.com and a Facebook page to allow us to publish even more that didn’t make our monthly print deadline. Send your contributions to [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your support!
