Bob Close was born in Peoria in 1945. He went to Mossville school and then graduated from Chillicothe High in the class of 1963. After high school, he went to the Universal Trade School in Omaha Nebraska to learn to be an auto mechanic.

Kristine, a Chillicothe native born in 1948, is the daughter of Charles and Wilma Roger McAlearney. She attended area grade schools and graduated from Chillicothe High in 1966. After graduation, she enrolled in the Methodist School of Nursing.
