May has been a busy month in the city…the American Legion held a Trivia Game Night on May 6th. The Free Electronic Recycling and Shred Day Event on Saturday, May 7th was a huge success. The two semi-trucks reached capacity by 10:30am. The residents in zip code 61523 disposed of old electronics and sensitive documents! 2,965 pounds of paper recycling in 2021 and this year nearly 22,000 pounds of electronic and nearly 3,000 pounds of paper recycling in 2022. The event was a collaboration, City of Chillicothe, Shademakers, IVC Leadership Class, Flexisnake, Chillicothe Township and Peoria County. The same day the Golf Cart Pub Crawl, being held as a Fireworks Fundraiser was held. Our schools all held final concerts, games, awards ceremonies, and graduations. Congratulations to all who participated!
