This is my mom’s Swiss steak recipe and I tweaked it a bit. It is a great, easy recipe for a busy family. It’s great over mashed potatoes or rice.

Crock-Pot Swiss Steak
~Cut up 1 medium onion and place it in the bottom of your crock-pot.
~Cut up 1 nice piece of round steak. Can be frozen. Place on top of onions. Season with a little salt and pepper.
~Cut up 1 or 2 green, red, or yellow peppers. Place on top of steak.
~1 package of Lipton onion soup, and 1 package of brown gravy mix. Put them in 1-1/2 cups of water or beef broth and mix well. Pour over the steak.
~1 14.5 oz. Can of petite diced tomatoes. Pour over steak.
~Cover the crock-pot and cook on low until beef is tender—6 to 8 hours.
