What’s Happening in Chillicothe...

We can’t let August go by without mentioning the Chamber of Commerce 21st Annual HLC (Henry, Lacon, Chillicothe) Canoe/Kayak Jaunt event. This year had record signups and brought people in from places as far away as St. Louis, Chicago, Iowa, and Indiana. The collaboration with other communities and the challenge of the Illinois River is gaining popularity for canoe and kayak enthusiasts alike.
The Chillicothe City Council and City staff would like to thank Margaret Hurd for her years of service as Chillicothe City Clerk. She is leaving her elected position to move closer to her grandchildren. She will be missed. Consequently, this means that the City has a vacancy to fill. If you, or someone you know, is interested in the City Clerk position, please contact Mayor Hughes at 309-573-1646 or drop off a resume and letter of interest to him at City Hall.
The water restrictions continue as the City continues to work with the EPA on the well issues. This has been an ongoing process and we appreciate your patience.
Did you know the Chillicothe Police Department has a Community Camera Reimbursement Program?
