The City would like to give a huge THANK YOU to all who participated in the Bridge to Bridge River Drive held September 17th & 18th. Chillicothe, Henry, Lacon, Spring Bay, and Peoria Heights had many fun activities and events scheduled on this 66-mile loop around the Illinois River.

The City continues to wait on EPA permits for its water well improvements and are still having supply chain issues with some water well parts. We appreciate your patience as the water restrictions continue.
Overall the City is working to make our community more walkable. Some sidewalks in the northern part of Chillicothe have been upgraded to be ADA compliant where roads were overlaid. Some TIF Central Business sidewalks are being rebuilt as well. If the sidewalk in front of your home needs repaired, please check with City Hall regarding the sidewalk program.
If you live within the city boundaries and have had people come to your door for business, you may request to see their peddlers license. When the City receives the peddlers’ application a routine investigation is performed of the application and the applicant. Peddlers who have been approved receive a peddlers license that they are requested to carry at all times. Should they not have a license, you may contact the Chillicothe Police Department and they will investigate the situation.
