I’m pleased to see that some of you are taking advantage of our free online community calendar to post your events. It’s very user friendly and you can even upload pictures or logos to go with your event listing. Be sure to check out the website at chillicothevoice.com to keep up to date on events that are posted throughout the month.

Another option you have is the ability to submit personal announcements such as engagements, weddings, births, anniversaries, memorials, and more. I remember back in the day when the community newspaper was the go-to place to see my friends’ engagements or wedding announcements. Since that has gone away, it seems that now everyone uses Facebook. But, Facebook is temporary and to me, there is something special about being able to clip out your announcement and save it or share it. For only $25, you can submit your announcement with a picture to the Chillicothe Hometown Voice. You can call me at 309-681-4418 for more information. Wouldn’t it be fun to see those old fashioned announcements come back to our community newspaper!
And along with submitting announcements, if you know of someone that you think needs a little recognition or has an interesting story to share, please send me your ideas. If you want to write the story yourself, that’s fine, too! You don’t have to be a “professional” writer to be able to contribute to the Chillicothe Hometown Voice. Your voice counts, too. Remember, this paper is For the Community — About the Community — By the Community.
