Chillicothe Circle of Service - November 2022

Oct 29, 2022 05:03PM ● By Ginny Molleck
Teamwork. Generosity. Service. Those three words define Chillicothe Circle of Service. To illustrate this, let’s look at a few of the things Circle of Service has done the past few months.

In late August, Elaine Snyder and Nancy Wilson teamed up to deliver $1,430 in gift cards to the seven schools in the IVC School District area. The money was donated by members and several area businesses, then prorated and distributed based on the number of students in each school. The gift cards are to be used by teachers to purchase school supplies for those in need.

In September, Service Committee members Sally Perry and Carol Solis collected two SUVs full of items designated for Love-In-Action Food Pantry. Included in the donation were soups, canned meats and vegetables; personal items like shampoo, body wash and liquid hand soap; and paper towels, toilet paper and dish soap. At the October meeting, Service Committee members Diane Koch, Jan Smith and Emily Thompson gathered donations from members for Community Needs Agency, which requested the Club’s help in providing food and paper products. An SUV was “filled to the brim.” Both agencies thanked Circle of Service for their generosity.

Terri Lynn nut sales begin Thursday, November 10, from 9 – 11am at Pearce Community Center and continue one day each week (check out the Chillicothe Voice online calendar for dates). Beginning Saturday and Sunday, November 12 and 13, and every weekend (except Thanksgiving weekend) through December 18, members will be selling at Grecian Gardens from 9am–1pm. Nuts will also be available at Cutting Edge, Hair Masters, Happy Thought Coffee, Plaza Cleaning Center, and Shear Grace during their regular business hours. Please support this sale, which provides scholarships for IVC seniors.
