This is probably my favorite cookie of all time. Quick and easy and makes 4 dozen.

Mom’s Soft Sugar Cookies

1 ½ c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tarter
¼ tsp. salt
1 c. softened butter
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
2 ¼  c. flour
Combine your sugar, butter, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
Blend in your flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
 
Divide the cookie dough into 1 ½ inch balls of dough. I use a cookie scoop. Roll them in some sugar and place them on a lined baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven on 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Do not over bake or they will not be soft.
