IVC Homecoming Parade - 2022

Even though we have lived here for over 25 years, Dave and I attended our FIRST IVC Homecoming Parade on October 7th and boy were we surprised at the number of people that come to this event. We made a very wrong assumption that we could easily find a parking place at 2:50pm when the parade was set to start at 3pm.
As soon as we found our parking space and walked towards downtown, we could immediately feel the energy of the crowd filling the streets. Dave was taking pictures of the parade vehicles, with me closely behind, and it was so much fun to see all the smiling faces as they were assembling for the parade.
Once we found our place on the street with some of our other family members, I was amazed to see the outpouring of support from our community for this annual event. I have never seen 2nd Street so FULL of people. Made me proud to be part of such a connected community. I wish we had taken the time to attend before. Next year, I will be sure to allow more than 10 minutes to find a good spot!
