OBITUARY – Juliann Stroud

Juliann Stroud, age 72, of Chillicothe, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at UnityPoint Health Proctor in Peoria surrounded by her family.

Julie was born on May 2, 1950 in Riverside, California to Unafaye Wright. She married Billy Dean Stroud on February 12, 1966 in Elmore City, OK. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2016. Also preceding her in death are her mother; and siblings Jamie Lynn and Kim Lynn.

Surviving are her children, Chris (Joe) Stroud of Aurora, IL, Billy (Duane) Stroud-Boutte of Carmel, NY and Deanna (Aaron) Boyer of Glasford, IL; four grandchildren, Lindsey (Travis Wallen) Stroud, Sydney Stroud, Jake (Emma) Clark and Taylor Clark; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings Darrell Lynn of Pauls Valley, OK, Diana Conley of Tulsa, OK, Gary (Cindy) Lynn of Stratford, OK, Connie (Tim) Richardson of Pauls Valley, OK, Lori Lynn of Pauls Valley, OK, Kerry (Terri) Lynn of Pauls Valley, OK, Amber Pierce of Sulphur, OK and Amy Pierce of Pauls Valley, OK; and many nieces and nephews.

Julie was a bus driver for over twenty years, first for Illinois Valley Central and then for Peoria Heights. She also worked different jobs for Ready Care Daycare in Peoria Heights and for St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon. In addition, she also worked at the family’s various businesses; Olde Time Billiards, Stroud Fur Company, Stroud Trailer Sales, and Stroud Bait Shop. Julie was a member of the Chillicothe Assembly of God Church and the Women’s Auxiliary for both the American Legion and VFW.

Julie’s greatest joy in life came from being a Nana. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was loving and ever present in their lives. Julie also loved to play pool, watch NASCAR, and sew. She also enjoyed gardening/yard work, the Cubs, the Oklahoma Sooners, and her dogs. 

Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorials in her name may be made to the Children’s Home Association of Illinois.
