The Chillicothe Voice

Tech & More at Your Library

Stop by Chillicothe Public Library, and you might hear a mysterious humming sound. Is it the library ghost? Is R2-D2 doing some genealogy research? Most likely, it’s the library’s 3D printer, spinning a new design out of plastic filament to fill a patron’s request. This fancy bit of machinery is just one of the technology resources available to library patrons to help them connect, create, and complete a variety of day-to-day tasks.

The public computer lab is available for anyone to use while the library is open. Library visitors can also take advantage of services such as scanning, printing, and faxing.

Need to connect to the internet when the library is closed? The library’s public WiFi network is accessible from the library parking lot 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Chillicothe Public Library cardholders can also check out easy-to-use, mobile HotSpots that keep tablets, laptops, and other WiFi-enabled devices connected to the internet wherever they may be, at home or on the road (within the U.S.).

In addition to these services and equipment, the library offers classes on a variety of topics for those new to computers or who want to gain more confidence in using technology. The “What the Tech?!” workshop series covers topics such as basic computer use, email, internet, cybersecurity, and mobile devices. Patrons with specific questions can also set up one-on-one learning sessions with library staff.

Chillicothe Public Library is honored to help empower our community to access information and achieve their goals.
