The Chillicothe Voice

Optimistically Speaking

Optimism is; “Hopefulness and confidence about the future or the successful outcome of something.” As a club we are always trying to live up to that definition by promoting events for our community, movies in our theatre, and scholarships at our high school.

In January, the Optimist’s Club was awarded $2,000 from the Three Sisters Music Festival. This money was given to our Town Theatre to help pay for the bathroom remodeling. We now offer a handicapped accessible facility.

The Optimists are not laying back on their laurels during this winter season. We have already begun planning “The Homerun Festival” which will be held June 3rd in conjunction with the Brad Wallin tournament. We are making some exciting changes and big additions to this fun festival this year. You won’t want to miss it, so put it on your calendar! Keep reading the Chillicothe Hometown Voice newspaper for more information to be posted as the planning moves forward in the coming months.

The Eagle Watch breakfast will take place at Shore Acres Park on February 11th. The Rotary and Lions clubs have partnered together for a pancake and sausage breakfast that day. While you are at Shore Acres, plan to stop and take a look at our new binocular telescope that has recently been installed. Maybe you will even see a few eagles!

If you would like to see what we are all about, come join us for breakfast at Grecian Gardens. Our meetings are the 1st and 3rd Saturdays at 8am.

We would love to have you and tell you how you too can make a difference.

Until next month... stay optimistic!
