What’s Happening in Chillicothe... April 2023

Spring is in the air! As yard work begins, burning of landscape waste is permitted only between April 1st and May 31st and between October 1st and December 15th. Landscape waste drop off remains open at Moffitt Park.

Weather permitting, the week of April 10, 2023, the annual cemetery clean-up begins to beautify and maintain the cemetery. Lot owners who have any vases, wreaths, arrangements, or hanging baskets from shepherd’s hooks they wish to save should remove them before April 9, 2023 as all ground-level decorations will be removed and disposed of to clear the way for mowing and trimming.

At the March 13th City Council meeting, the Council approved:

  • A Proclamation declaring April is Donate Life Month
  • An agreement between I.D.O.T and City of Chillicothe for the Truitt Road Project improvements
  • Material Quotes as follows:
  • R.A. Cullinan Bituminous Patching (Prop. Mix) – $165.00 per ton
  • Advanced Asphalt Co. Bit. Patching Mix (Cold Patch) – $120.00 per ton
  • Galena Road and Gravel Aggregate Material – $10.25 per ton
  • RiverStone Group Vermilion Quarry White Rock – $7.00 per ton
  • An expenditure of $1,056 payable to Axon Enterprise for the purchase Taser Cartridges for CPD
  • Request from Brandt Bollman of Gilmore’s Sports Bar for Live Entertainment in their Beer Garden (at 1046 N. 2nd St) on March 17, 5–9pm (subject to them obtaining license prior to the event)


City Council meetings are held the 2nd and the 4th Monday of each month at 7pm. The Public is welcome to attend.

Don’t forget the Town Theatre is open each weekend on Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays! Stop in for a movie. So many things are happening in Chillicothe. Get out and enjoy this great town.
