If you have needed alterations in the past few years, chances are that Peggy Yung has done it. Peggy has been passionate about sewing since she was a child. She made it a career in 2014 when she opened up the sewing and alterations shop at 1040 N. 2nd St. in downtown Chillicothe. Peggy is a full service seamstress. She does not specialize in one specific thing, although redesigning vintage wedding dresses are probably the favorite. Peggy does major and minor alterations for her clients including sewing on buttons, repairing holes in jeans, hemming, replacing zippers, custom items, you name it, Peggy’s probably done it. She also makes memory Bears, pillows, and quilts out of loved ones clothing. The shop is open Tuesday through Friday from 10–5, and by appointment after hours or on weekends.
