The Chillicothe Park District celebrates Kathy Close of Chillicothe. Kathy was the recipient of the Jack Hammer Award for Volunteerism on February 28th at her family breakfast. The Jack Hammer Award is given out by the Park District yearly to honor an outstanding business or individual who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to promote parks in the Chillicothe Community. More Chillicothe Park District News…they were recently notified that the Park District has won the maximum amount from the state of Illinois for the OSLAD grant—$600,000 for improved ADA accessibility, playground enhancement, baseball/softball field improvements, additional pavilion space, and infrastructure improvements.
