The Short Loin Market is a Chillicothe tradition. The Short Loin is to my knowledge the 3rd store that has been at that location for a number of decades. While things have been added and subtracted from the available services over the years, one thing has stayed constant. You will always get a smile and “Hello” and it is a matter of convenience. It still to this day is a meeting place of sorts. A place where you will see your neighbor and maybe a stranger that is passing through town. You will get the latest town news and most likely a good amount of harmless gossip. If you walk in with a quarter in hand, you will be treated to the bird asking if you would like a present. The bird is generational. We have grandparents bringing their grandkids in and talking about how they remember it being there for as long as they remember. The Short Loin changed hands three years ago. And as you drive by, you may have noticed many outward updates that have occurred. Upon entering, you will also notice that there have been quite a few updates going on inside as well. The most important being we have expanded our selection of available products. If you haven’t found yourself in our store in a while, I think that you will find yourself pleasantly surprised. We offer many food staples including Prairie Farms products. We have an ever-increasing variety of beer and liquor and all of the usual convenience stores items. We have a full-service lottery and video gaming is available as well. If you find yourself in need of an item or two and want to leave the aggravation and hassle behind, do yourself a favor and come check us out.
