In July the warmth and vibrancy of summer is upon us as the 4th of July celebrations are anticipated. It’s the perfect time to gather with friends and family, revel in unforgettable fireworks shows, and honor the spirit of freedom that makes our nation shine. July is National Ice Cream Month so take in your favorite flavors at our local businesses such as Molly’s Pizzeria, Little Land of Candy, and Dairy Queen!
At the June 12th City Council meeting the Council approved:
City Council Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 7pm. The Public is welcome to attend.

At the June 12th City Council meeting the Council approved:
- Commercial/Institutional Program to the Sidewalk Program.
- Commercial/Institutional Sidewall Application for Pearce Community Center
- Accept and Award Bid to Advance Asphalt for the Sycamore Street Project for $250,887.50
- Accept and Award Bid to Advance Asphalt for the MFT Overlay for $147,675
- An ordinance to amend the code designating a three-way stop sign at Cloverdale Road and 2nd Street
- Special Event Request submitted by Beau Ledbetter for the use of Second Street, from Chestnut to Walnut, on September 9, 2023 from 4pm to 8pm for a Ethan Koch Memorial Cruise Inn.
- Special Event Request submitted by Dwayne Siggers for the use of Chestnut Street, from Second St. to Alley, with open container, on June 15, 2023 from 5pm to 11pm for Chillicothe Days/Gilmore’s Block Party
- Special Event Request submitted by Trevor Blount, IVC High School Student Council, for the use of Second Street, from Cedar Street to Elm Street, on September 22, 2023 from 1:30pm to 4pm for the IVC Homecoming Parade.
- Request for Live entertainment in a beer garden, as submitted by the American Legion, on June 16, 2023 from 8pm to 12am and June 17, 2023 from 7pm to 11pm for Chillicothe Days
- An Ordinance prohibiting ground-mounted solar in residential zoning districts
