Canoers and kayakers come from all over the Midwest to participate in the annual scenic, 16.4-mile HLC River Jaunt held on Sunday, August 13th. The jaunt begins at the Henry Harbor, send off with a light to-go breakfast to Lacon Marina for lunch and a raffle. What is one of the most beautiful stretches of the Illinois River, participants often see eagles, cranes, herons, and of course the flying fish! They finish the journey to gorgeous Shore Acres Park for a hot cooked meal. The cost for the event is only $55 and includes a T-shirt, vinyl decal, and 3 meals!
