Circle of Service News

Have you ever wanted to better understand why a special needs child with autism, ADD/ADHD, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Asperger’s, or other similar conditions acts as he/she does? Picket Fence has a selection of more than 30 books for adults and children, provided by Chillicothe Circle of Service, which address these topics. You’re encouraged to take advantage of this free Lending Library, which can help you and your child who may have a special needs classmate or friend, be aware of and learn how to deal with the individual’s condition. Any book may be checked out simply by signing your name on the checkout sheet during regular Picket Fence business hours and then returning it when you are finished reading.

Diapers, diapers, and more diapers! In July, Circle of Service members donated diapers and baby wipes to the Center for Prevention of Abuse. The SUV cargo space was full, and the contributions overflowed the tub used to move the diapers into the building. Center for Prevention of Abuse Donations Coordinator Kelly Ward was thrilled to receive these items. Co-chairs Linda Herron and Emily Thompson thank the members for supporting this important Peoria-area organization.
