Felise Groom Crowned as the New Junior Miss Illinois Job's Daughters

Illinois Job’s Daughters (Job’s Daughters International) held their annual statewide Grand Session in Effingham, IL at the Thelma Keller Convention Center on June 22–25, and several members of Bethel 96 from Chillicothe were in attendance. Some of the activities of the weekend included the election and appointment of new state officers, the presentation of various service, membership, and academic scholarship awards, a performing arts competition, and many other fun activities where the members could get to know their “sisters” from all over the state!

On Friday, June 23rd, a pageant was held to select the new Junior Miss and Miss Illinois Job’s Daughters. The retiring Junior Miss, Breckyn Groom of Henry, and retiring Miss, Emily Brennan of Marquette Heights, who are both members of the local Chillicothe Bethel, presided over the evening’s event. At the end of the evening, Groom crowned her sister Felise Groom as the new Junior Miss Illinois Job’s Daughters. This is the third year in a row that the Junior Miss Illinois Job’s Daughters has been a member of the Chillicothe Bethel. Prior to Felise and Breckyn Groom, the title was held by Taylor Rowe of Henry.

Job’s Daughter International is an organization that empowers young women between the ages of 10–20 to become leaders, serve their communities, and realize their power to impact the world, all while having fun with their friends who become their sisters! The local Bethel in Chillicothe is always welcoming new members. If you would like more information, please contact Suzanne Knisley at 309-361-0015, or by email at [email protected].
