What’s Happening in Chillicothe... September 2023

Welcome September! The City’s Cemetery and Park seasonal workers have completed their responsibilities for the summer season. School’s back in session and fall is approaching. September marks a time of transition, where the world around us transforms into a captivating canvas of vibrant colors and new beginnings. It is a great time to enjoy the LIVE MUSIC events happening around town. Check out the calendar for more information.
At the August 14th City Council meeting the Council:
- Approved the waiving of a Building Permit Fee for Chillicothe Community Fire Protection District
- Approved the repair for Concrete at Hardees
- Approved the Priority One Road and Bridge project for Street Overlay/Curb Improvement
- Approved the Full Depth Patching Project
- Approved the Alley Surfacing Project for Public Works
- Approved the Tri-County Regional Planning Joint Funding Agreement-PUATTS
- Referred to the City Attorney to Draft Ordinance 4th Amendment to Riversound Annexation Agreement
- Approved the Overlay of Sycamore from Bradley to Santa Fe Avenue
- Approved the Requests by the American Legion for Live Entertainment for the Justin Robbins Band on Sunday, August 27th from 2–6pm, Chilli Dogz Band on September 10, from 2–5pm, and the South Bound Band, September 23 from 2–9 pm
- Approved to buy back a cemetery lot
City Council Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 7pm. The Public is welcome to attend.
The City’s Voucher Program continues to run until September 9th. If you live within the corporate boundaries, stop by City Hall to obtain an official voucher. There are limited vouchers left in the program.
