What’s Happening in Chillicothe... November 2023
Oct 30, 2023 11:55AM ● By the City of Chillicothe
November is a month of thanksgiving and a transitional month marked by decreasing temperatures and the beginning of the holiday season. It’s a time when nature prepares for winter, and the community focuses on both outdoor and indoor activities suitable for the cooler weather. There are still amazing opportunities for hiking, biking, or taking scenic drives. Birdwatching at the observation tower on the riverfront picks up as migratory birds pass through the area on their way to warmer winter locations.
One notable November event is our Christmas Parade taking place November 18th. Following the parade will be Santa at the Fire Station, Carriage Rides from City Park, and a Tree Lighting. Look for the Chamber’s ad with more details.
Be sure to support the local businesses throughout the year and especially on Small Business Saturday taking place November 25th. Take time to get to know the business owners who reinvest into the community.
At the October 9th City Council Meeting the Council:
- Approved a Payment of $9,127 to Hawkins, Inc. out of the ARPA fund for Chlorine Feed Materials
- Approved a Payment of $2,317 to the Illinois State Police, Asset Forfeiture Section
