What’s Happening in Chillicothe... December 2023

Nov 27, 2023 12:24PM ● By the City of Chillicothe

The start of the Holiday Season was swept in at the November 18th Christmas Parade. There is nothing like a parade, Santa, holiday music, caroling, and carriage rides to inspire the holiday spirit! Thanks to all who attended and those who stopped in to support the local small businesses on Small Business Saturday!

The holiday season is a great time for giving. Did you know the donations made to the green buckets at the Chillicothe Kroger are kept within the community? The Bucket Brigade is a direct fundraiser for the Community Needs Agency which re-distributes to those in need within the IVC School District 321 boundaries. We have an amazing and supportive community!

Continue to shop at your local small businesses during this holiday season. Have you picked up your Countdown to Christmas retail event game cards? Visit local retailers, get your cards marked and you have a chance at winning some amazing holiday dollar prizes. Winners will be drawn Saturday, December 9th at 6pm. This program is a great opportunity to meet local small business owners and show them you appreciate them and have a chance to win big prizes.

The Shademaker’s Committee are busy planning their 5th annual Holiday Spirit Lighting Contest called “Light up Chillicothe.” This is a program to promote and recognize some of the amazing holiday decorations. Nominate your neighbors who go all out with their home holiday lighting decorations and turn in your forms to City Hall by December 1st.

At the November 13th City Council Meeting the Council approved:
