The Chillicothe Voice

Optimistically Speaking

Spring has sprung and we’re ready for warmer weather to stay for good! But in Illinois, you never know about weather. It’s been said, “If you don’t like the weather in Illinois, wait a day and it will change.” 70s one day and then 20s the next!

May 11th is the annual Optimist Garage Sale at the Casting Club. This sale is huge, with families from all over town and beyond donating items. We accept all items in clean, good condition, from clothes to furniture and everything in between. We also have a great silent auction that day with really nice items.

There are NO prices on the garage sale items—everything is a free-will offering! So, start cleaning out those closets, garages, and sheds, and plan to get rid of all the things you don’t need or want anymore to help us to help the kids of our community. Remember all the proceeds this year will benefit our Town Theatre.

NOTE…Our meeting place has changed. The meetings are still on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, but starting in April the breakfast meeting will be at The Rail Splitter from 8:30–9:30am.

Our next meeting, April 6th will feature Lisa Friechrich from Silver Evolutions. Come join us for breakfast and see what we are all about.

Congratulations to the teachers picked this month to receive $50 to use in their rooms; Jillian Draper – CEC, Courtney Angelo – South, and Brandon Cunningham – South.

We are busy planning and looking forward to June when we have many events coming up that we will be sharing with you in next month’s paper.

Until then…stay Optimistic!
