Finally Spring has sprung! All the April rains have brought forth green grass, blooming flowers, and budding trees. What a beautiful time of year to be thankful for Mother Nature’s bounty!

Speaking of being thankful…we are thankful for our huge upcoming garage sale at the Casting Club on May 11th. It will open at 8am and close at 4pm. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. NO PRICES...GOOD WILL OFFERING ONLY for items set out. There will also be a silent auction for premium items. Be sure to get your bids in!

If you have nice items to donate to the auction, we will be setting up Friday, May 10th starting at 8am at the Casting Club. We will be there most of the day setting things out and getting ready and if you would like to help us, come on down, all hands are appreciated.

This May we will be giving out three scholarships at IVC High School. These scholarships go out to the seniors who best represent the high standards of the Optimist’s Club. This year besides the two college scholarships, we are adding a new scholarship to be given out to the person entering a trade school.

In June, watch for our members to be out in full force for our annual flag day. We will be out around town and at local businesses selling our flags to help fund programs for the youth of our community. Display your flag proudly! (More details next month.)

The teachers’ names that were drawn this month to receive a $50 gift card to use in their classrooms were: Craig Boone – Mossville, Sara Krokum – South, and Robin Baer – CEC.
