Rotary International – Creating Hope in the World

The Rotary Club of Chillicothe finished the July 2023–June 2024 year last month. The theme to this year was “Creating Hope in the World” Taking a look back to see how our club created hope in the world:
- July, we partnered with TCC/Verizon to hand out backpacks in the community. Donated “school supplies” to Pearce Community Center for their Summer Camp program. July–November the Rotary Club partners with the City and Teresa Rusk of the Tin Top shop and beautifies the River Corridor Walkway on 2nd Street.
- September, we dropped off school supplies for Pearce’s youth programs.
- October, we hosted a breakfast for the IVC German student exchange and donated toward their field trips. We hosted a Halloween party for the Crabel Court disabled residents.
- November, we donated on Giving Tuesday to the Rotary Foundation that serves international projects and finalized an Empowering Girls grant application for Pearce Community Center.
- December, we focused food donation for Community Needs Agency for the Christmas food distribution.
- January, we prepared and marketed for February’s Eagle Watch breakfast a great collaboration between the Lions Club, the Chillicothe Library, and other local businesses.
- March, we began working on a scholarship to go toward a non-traditional student in the trades and we donated time to stuff eggs for the Easter Egg roundup at City Park.
- April, we promoted Rotary Youth Leadership Academy for Sophomore High School Students and hosted a breakfast for the IVC Sterling Merit scholars and donated to the annual Sterling Merit Awards banquet. We began promoting our Rotary District’s baseball game fundraiser supporting literacy programs.
