Rita, 76, of Sparland, passed away on June 21, 2024. She was born November 12, 1947 in Peoria, Illinois to George (Toby) and Darlene Miller.  She married Ronald (R.E.) Smith on June 12, 1966 in Chillicothe. 

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, stepfather, George S. Huggins, and her granddaughter Danielle J. Smith.

She is survived by her son Marcus (Teresa), twin sister Anita (Al) Adams, grandson Ryan (Megan), and three great-grandchildren. 

Rita graduated from Chillicothe Township High School in 1966. She became a homemaker, liking to go fishing, and being with family. She also helped with the VFW fish dinners. Her best times were listening to her husband and son singing and playing music. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chillicothe Methodist Church and Chillicothe VFW Post 4999.
