Two Chamber events to report on….

The Chamber organizes the City-Wide Garage Sale that was on the last weekend in July. Participants get their location on a city map that is then distributed to garage sale enthusiasts. Many people who don’t decide to get on the map still have their garage sale over that weekend. It works out for everyone!  

Our next event is the HLC event – the Henry, Lacon, and Chillicothe Canoe and Kayak Jaunt. It will occur on August 11 and I believe this is our 22nd anniversary of the event. You can get a registration form on Facebook, or contact Amber at the Chamber.

Over the last few years, we have had anywhere from between 100 and 130 participants and they come from all over the Midwest. The event starts in Lacon with registration and a light breakfast. Lunch in Lacon is from Subway. The landing in Chillicothe will be a little different this year due to the construction at Shore Acres. Instead, we will be landing at the north boat ramp in front of MoonTower Bar & Grill. At registration, we will be handing out coupons for lunch at MoonTower.

Our next Open House/Business After Hours will be on August 29 at FlexiSnake starting at 5pm. Scott and Steve Turner will guide us on tours to see their operation. Very cool business and a community asset!

These events are open to the public and have no admission fee. Snacks and a door prize will be offered!  The events allow member businesses to showcase their place of business, and it’s a networking opportunity for all.

Also, the Chamber is looking for volunteers to join our Ambassadors Program. Do you have someone in your business or organization who would like to get involved? Also, you don’t need to be a Chamber member to be an ambassador. Joining gives you a chance to meet new people and businesses and it’s fun!  Get involved!
