The Chillicothe Voice

Chillicothe Circle of Service

At the August meeting of Chillicothe Circle of Service, Ginny Molleck, who with her husband Dave owns and operates LimeLight Communications, was the guest speaker. She shared their history in the publishing business which began 27 years ago with their first publication. Since then they have published a number of magazines, including Healthy Cells, Experience Health, and 50 Plus News and Views. Approached by Sherry Adams, Amanda Beadles, and Jeannie Quick post-pandemic, Dave and Ginny were encouraged to provide a Chillicothe-centric paper to citizens. Because they had considered this idea pre-Covid, they were hesitant but agreed to try it for three months to see if it would succeed. They were surprised when all expenses were offset by advertising revenue in the first month of publishing the Chillicothe Hometown Voice, which is delivered free of charge to everyone in the 61523 zip code. Ginny considers themselves the general contractor of the newspaper, relying on articles from local volunteer writers, residents, and local organizations for content — “For the Community - About the Community - By the Community.”

Thanks to contributions from Geiger’s True Value Hardware, Riverside Chevrolet, Walmart and our members, Circle of Service has given more than $1600 in gift cards to local schools, allowing teachers to purchase required items not usually donated for students in need. Watch for more information in next month’s paper.
