What’s Happening in Chillicothe... October 2024

Sep 30, 2024 10:10AM ● By the City of Chillicothe

Mark your calendars for the Homecoming activities on October 3rd and the Homecoming Parade and game on October 4th. The City of Chillicothe becomes “Halloween Town” in the month of October. Three Sisters Park has Spider Hill haunted attractions every Friday and Saturday night, Bonfires, Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre events, Hocus Pocus Outdoor Movie Night, Merchant Trick or Treat, Spooktacular, Nightmare on 2nd Street Halloween Parade and festival, Monster Mash Youth Dance, and Trunk or Treat and Trick or Treat events with local businesses are happening. It is fun to see the community gather around a theme and run with it.

October 1st through December 15th the City of Chillicothe opens up yard waste burning. Check the City’s website under the “Residents” menu, then “Burning Schedule” for full details. The Moffitt yard waste drop-off is an alternative to burning. In October the hours are as follows: Mondays 4pm–6pm, Wednesdays 10am–noon & 4pm–6pm and Saturday’s 8am–1pm.

City Park is seeing some updates. Due to an increase of park events and response to community requests, the ground is being leveled for safety of attendees and the stage has improvements as well.
