Seven Areas of Focus
Rotary International has identified seven key areas of focus that guide the organization’s global efforts and service projects. These areas are designed to address some of the most pressing challenges faced by communities locally and worldwide. Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus are:
- Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention: Promoting peace through education, dialogue, and conflict resolution.
- Disease Prevention and Treatment: Fighting diseases through medical care, vaccines (like polio), and health programs.
- Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene: Providing access to clean water and sanitation to improve community health.
- Maternal and Child Health: Reducing mortality rates by improving healthcare for mothers and children.
- Basic Education and Literacy: Promoting education and literacy through school support and teacher training.
- Community Economic Development: Supporting entrepreneurship, local businesses, and reducing poverty.
- Supporting the Environment: Promoting environmental sustainability and addressing climate change.
Our local club looks for projects fitting within these categories. If you are interested in growing your network and making a difference in your community and the world by the above seven areas of focus, contact the Rotary Club of Chillicothe President, Amanda Beadles at City Hall at 309-274-3107 or email at [email protected]. The club meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at Grecian Gardens from 7am–8am in the lounge. Join us!
