Chillicothe Historical Society Special Event
Traffic whizzes by some of the Mossville Mounds every day. When State Route 29 was changed, some of the ancient mounds were “in the road and had to go away.” As a young boy, Gene Pratt stood many days with Doris Dickison to observe the procedure. A special event on Sunday, November 17th at 1:30pm in the Chillicothe Historical Society Museum on Rt. 29 (4th Street) will feature a film by Miss Dickison plus a live presentation by Gene Pratt, “Witnessing Mound Removal by State Authorities.” This is a free event, but donations to the museum keep us active.
Chillicothe Historical Society’s next meeting will be at 6:30pm. Lowell Bennett will present information on Early Area Roads.
