Optimistically Speaking

Winter is now upon us; it seems to sneak up so quickly after the leaves start to fall. We start putting extra blankets on the beds, storing away our outside yard things, mowing the grass for the last time, and then its time to get ready for Christmas.
The Optimist’s Club has already collected our gift cards and certificates from the businesses and has begun selling our Christmas Bonanza tickets. Tickets are still just $10 each to win $1,000 in gift cards to shop at local businesses. You can buy tickets from any Optimist member or at the CNA basket drive at Three Sister’s Park on December 21st where the drawing will take place.
Be on the lookout for the Christmas trees at local businesses. They will all have tags with kids names and ages on them. Pick up a couple, buy some gifts and then return the unwrapped gift to the store with the tag where you got it. The Optimists will be distributing these gifts to parents at the CNA basket drive at Three Sister’s Park on
December 21st.
Again this year, the Club will be collecting and donating boxes of instant potatoes, packets of gravy (no glass jars), and dry milk for CNA’s baskets. If you would like to help us you can contact a Optimist member or take them to the CNA office.
You will also find Optimists ringing the bell at Krogers. Stop by and say hello and contribute to this worthy cause.
So much going on in December. Afterwards, we’ll take a rest, but then begin planning next year’s projects to benefit the youth in our community.
Merry Christmas from all of us to all of you.
Stay Optimistic!
