Chillicothe Circle of Service
We’re now at the halfway point of our Terri Lynn nut sales and back at it after a short Thanksgiving break. This fundraising project lets us award scholarships to 2025 IVC seniors, and we greatly appreciate the support of the community. Look for members selling items at Grecian Gardens every Saturday and Sunday from 9am - 1pm through December 22. We’ll also be at Pearce Community Center from 9am - 11am on December 4, December 12 and December 20. As in past years, you may purchase Terri Lynn goodies at Cutting Edge, Hair Masters, Plaza Cleaning, and Shear Grace during their normal business hours.
Andrea Mercier, associate minister at Chillicothe Christian Church and local author, was our guest speaker in November. She shared her experiences as the mother of Gabriel, her ten-year-old autistic son who also has a rare, genetic disorder which gradually robs him of his abilities. She wrote Oliver’s Extraordinary Friend to help parents and others understand autism, a neurological and developmental disorder that affects how individuals communicate, learn, behave, and interact with others. The book may be purchased at Picket Fence or online at Amazon or Barnes and Noble. Many area libraries, including the Chillicothe Public Library and the Circle of Service Lending Library at Picket Fence, have it available for checkout.
We thank Service Committee member Kitty Baxter for collecting candy which will be included in the Community Needs’ Christmas baskets distributed later this month.
