Happy New Year! The community ended 2024 with a successful gift giving season. The retail holiday events inspired our community to get out of their homes and into our local businesses. The tree lighting and inaugural Nikolausmarkt in City Park was well received. As for the groups giving back to the community, the Community Needs Agency received many donations through the bucket brigade, and through this community’s generosity, the Chillicothe Police Department provided another successful Christmas for the children of IVC 321 School District. Thank you to all who helped make this holiday season a success! 

We are looking forward to the upcoming year with these 2025 projects: Pedestrian/Bike Path plan to bid in spring and construction to follow, Cloverdale Road Overlay in summer, Bradley Drainage Project construction in June, and Bradley Road to be overlaid following. 

At the December 9th City Council meeting the Council approved:

• An expenditure of $75,000 payable to Stark Excavating, Inc. for work on Benedict Bridge
• Engineering Agreement with Fehr Gram in the amount of $59,900 for the PPUATS Grant for  Cloverdale Road Improvement Project
• Intergovernmental Agreement for the Pedestrian/Bike Path between the City and the Chillicothe Public Library
• Intergovernmental Agreement for the Pedestrian/Bike Path between the City and IVC District 321

Instructed:

• The City Attorney to Draft an Ordinance implementing a municipal grocery retailers’ occupation tax  and a municipal grocery service occupation tax at a rate of 1%

The council meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 7pm at City Hall. The Public is welcome to attend. The January City Council meetings will be held on January 13 and January 27.
