Optimistically Speaking HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2025 is here and we are excited to see what the new year will bring! New opportunities to do something great await all of us. Maybe you are one of those people who makes New Year’s resolutions or not. A lot of the resolutions like; losing weight, going to the gym, making more money, or starting a new job are fine, but what about resolutions like helping your neighbor, spending more time with your family, connecting with old friends, visiting a nursing home, find a home church, be kinder to people or join a civic organization and help your community?
There are so many ways that you can make your life better by not focusing on yourself but by seeking out people around you and concentrating on how you could help them. This is our Optimist’s Creed that we try to live up to:
The Optimist Creed
Promise Yourself
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
The Chillicothe Optimist Club’s focus is on helping the youth in our town and making our community a better place to live. Our club meets on the first and third Saturdays at Molly’s Pizzeria for breakfast at 8am. We would love to have you join us.
