The Rotary Club of Chillicothe $1,000 Vocational/Continuing Education Grant aims to support individuals pursuing vocational training or continuing education in skilled trades. Whether you’re aiming to become an electrician, welder, plumber, carpenter, or pursuing any other skilled trade, we’re here to help.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the grant, applicants must:

• Be a high school senior or older residing in Central Illinois
• Provide proof of acceptance or enrollment in a vocational training program or continuing education course related to skilled trades.

Application Form: (On a separate page, fill out the following 5 sections)

• Field of study:

3. Vocational Training/Continuing Education Details:

• Name of the vocational training program or continuing education course:
• Institution/Organization providing the training/course:
• Start Date and Expected Completion Date:
• Brief description of the program/course and why you chose it:

4. Essay (300-500 words): Write an essay addressing the following:

• Your passion for pursuing a career in the skilled trades.
• How receiving this grant would impact your educational and career goals.
• How this grant would help overcome any challenges faced in accessing vocation training/continuing education

5. Documents:

• Proof of acceptance/enrollment in a vocational training program or continuing education course.
• Any additional documents supporting your application (Recommendation letters, etc.)

Submission: Submit your application and supporting documents to the Chillicothe Rotary President Amanda Beadles at City Hall at 908 N 2nd Street, Chillicothe, IL 61523 by Friday, April 18, 2024 at 3pm. Selection Process: Applications will be reviewed by a panel of experts in the field of skilled trades education. Successful applicants will be selected based on their demonstrated passion and potential for success in their chosen field.
