Ted, 93, of Sparland, formerly of Chillicothe, passed away at his winter home in Mesa, Arizona on December 4, 2024 surrounded by his four children. He was born May 30, 1931 in Carlinville, Illinois to Richard and Helen Briggs. He married Darline Albracht Sep-tember 4, 1954 in Carlinville. Surviving are his children Deb (Joe) Battaglia of Pine, Arizona, Brad (Lynda) Briggs of Chillicothe, Greg (Paula) Briggs of Sparland, and Dawn (Duke) Arrington of Payson, Arizona, 15 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. Ted served in the Army and trained as a cable splicer continuing that career at GTE for 36 years before retiring. He enjoyed being outdoors, traveling and spending time with family and especially loved going to casinos. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and great-granddaughter. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or donor’s choice.
