Here is what is happening on the IVC scene this February…

January brought the beginning of the final semester for IVC’s Class of 2025. Students and faculty were busy with St. Jude fundraisers and little kids’ dance team clinics at the IVC basketball games. There was a teen crafting event held on Wednesday, January 15th in IVC’s library. The IVC Rollers Club (gaming club) met on three Fridays after school in January. IVCHS offers a wide variety of activities for students to join. Check one out!

IVC’s Swing Dance will be held on Saturday, February 15 from 8-11pm. Make plans to purchase your tickets to enjoy this event!

The week of Tuesday, February 18 – Friday, February 21 is World Languages Week at IVCHS. There will be a Krispy Kreme Donut fundraiser Tuesday morning from 7-8am. Each morning during homeroom during this week there will be world language trivia questions for prizes. There will also be a World Languages Food Fair on Thursday during all lunches. Bring your money and enjoy the wide variety of food and fun!

On Wednesday evening, February 19th, the district’s jazz bands from CEC, Mossville, and IVCHS will perform in the Commons at IVCHS. Check with your favorite jazz band players for the times for each group’s performances.

On Friday, February 21st,  IVCHS will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive. If anyone in the community would like to donate, please call the office to set up a donation appointment time. 

On Wednesday, February 26th, IVCHS will host their annual Grey Ghost Pride Night from 6 - 7:30pm. The entire community is welcome and encouraged to attend. This is a time for next year’s incoming freshman students to have an informational meeting about all things IVCHS and current students have the opportunity to demonstrate their learning in the courses offered at Illinois Valley Central High School. If there is anyone in the community who would like any information about the academic offerings as well as extracurricular offerings available at IVCHS, this is an excellent opportunity to learn about our school. Please mark your calendars to visit IVC High School during this evening event to learn about our students and school!  Go Ghosts!

The spring senior retreat will be Wed. March 5 – Sat. March 8. Seniors should contact their counselors as soon as possible to reserve their spot for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Once again, IVCHS thanks our Chillicothe community for your continued support as our winter sports and activities are underway. To access schedules for sporting events and activities, please see the IVC district website: www.ivcschools.com and select your student’s school and calendar to view the many events that are scheduled. The website has some minor changes. To view sporting events, click the “More” button in the upper right corner of the IVCHS webpage and then click the “Athletics” button to view the calendar of daily and upcoming competitions.
