Jim, age 62, of Chillicothe, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Methodist Hospital in Peoria. Jim was born on December 31, 1961 in Peoria, IL to Roland L. and Susan K. (Sweeney) Hayward.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, Roland and Linda Hayward of Chillicothe; his brothers, Richard (Sameka Gunter) Hayward of Peoria Heights, IL and Douglas (Lori) Hayward of Cobden, IL; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Susan; his grandparents; and his sister-in-law, Candice Hayward.

Jim worked in maintenance at Illinois Valley Central High School and he enjoyed riding his bicycle, playing the mandolin, and reading his Bible.  Jim was honored to give the gift of life to others through organ donation.

Jim was loved by all who knew him and will be missed by his family and friends.

Cremation rites will be accorded and Jim will be laid to rest with his mother at Chillicothe City Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.  Online condolences may be made through www.weberhurdfuneralhome.com.
