As the warmer weather arrives, the City offers two programs to support your efforts to freshen up your home and yard. From disposal programs to yard waste management, there’s something for everyone. Here’s what you need to know:
Spring Disposal Voucher Program: The Spring Disposal Voucher Program begins distribution on April 21st. The program runs from May 1st to June 6th, with 142 vouchers available. The only Saturday collection date is May 31st. Visit City Hall for more details.
Yard Waste Regulations: For those living within city limits, burning landscape waste is permitted only from April 1st to May 31st and from October 1st to December 15th. Additionally, the landscape waste drop-off site at Moffitt Park opened in March and will remain open through November.
Election Date: April 1, 2025 is the Consolidated Election. This is the community’s opportunity to vote for Mayor, City Clerk, Treasurer and Alderperson to serve their community. Voting can take place at Chillicothe Public Library from 6am-7pm.
Annual Cemetery Clean-Up: Weather permitting, the annual cemetery clean-up will begin the week of April 14, 2025. Lot owners who wish to save any vases, wreaths, arrangements or hanging baskets from shepherd’s hooks should remove them before April 13, 2025, as all ground-level decorations will be removed and disposed of to allow for mowing and trimming.
Pearce Community Center Day Celebration: The City Council celebrated Pearce Community Center Day by presenting a proclamation certificate at the March 10 Council meeting. This honor recognizes 35 years of dedication and service by the board and staff of Pearce Community & Fitness Center, whose commitment has made a lasting impact on our community. Join the celebration at Pearce’s Open House on April 23rd.
