Spring has sprung! It’s time to serve up this great ham for your Easter dinner!
COCA-COLA HAM FOR EASTER
INGREDIENTS
- 1 Fully cooked ham (cured or smoked) Do not get a pre-glazed ham! I usually get a 7 lb. ham.
- 1 can or bottle of 12 oz. of Coca-Cola (not diet or sugar-free)
- 8 whole cloves
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of smooth Dijon mustard (fully coat the ham)
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
Score the top of your ham in a diamond pattern. About a ¼ inch deep.
Insert the whole cloves in the diamond pattern of the ham.
Place your ham in a large roasting pan, flat side down, score side up.
Brush a healthy amount of the Dijon mustard over the ham.
Make sure you get in the scored creases.
Take your brown sugar and rub all over the ham.
Pour your Coca-Cola directly on the bottom of the pan all around the ham.
Cover the baking dish with foil. Bake on the middle rack.
Bake 15 minutes per pound.
With 15 minutes of baking time left, remove the foil and baste the ham with the liquid from the bottom of the pan.
If the glaze looks too thick just add a bit more Coca-Cola
Bake the remaining 15 minutes uncovered. Baste several times. Let the ham rest for 10 to 15 minutes. Take the excess glaze and pour it into a gravy bowl, and serve it with your ham.
HAVE A VERY BLESSED EASTER!
