Chillicothe Circle of Service

Local attorney, Mike Mahoney, was the guest speaker at our March meeting. He strongly suggested everyone to do estate planning, including wills, trusts if necessary, and establishing "transfer on death" for items such as a house. Mike also encouraged members to have a Health Care Power of Attorney, as well as a Property Power of Attorney, reviewing those documents every five years to be sure they're still accurate. He also addressed the increasing number of scams. His advice: If you don't recognize the phone number, don't answer it. If someone really wants to speak with you, they'll leave a message. Always be on the alert, and use the local police department if you think something is suspicious.
The winter of 2024/2025 saw another successful Terri Lynn fundraising campaign. Profits from this sale will allow us to award three $1000 scholarships to graduating IVC seniors. We thank the community for their support of this worthwhile project.
In mid-March, members helped with preparations for Spring Planting 2025 at Three Sisters Park by preparing germination packages of corn seed for one of the stations, as well as assembling the escort binders.
