Spring has arrived…the robins are back and before you know it, we will be planting cold-weather crops and cutting grass.

The Optimist Club's *poster contest is over. The kids worked hard on them at school and the posters were on display at the library in March. A winner in each of the two age category were picked. The winner of the 3–4 grades was 3rd grader, Asher Roseboom and the 5–6 grades winner was 6th grader, Mila Carmack. Each winner was awarded a prize of $50. The two winner's posters will be sent to the Illinois District competition to compete against posters statewide.

Watch for our new *Photograph contest; Chillicothe Through the Eyes of Youth for kids 3–12 grades starting soon. Students can start taking pictures now! We invite you to capture the beauty and spirit of Chillicothe. All pictures must be of subjects within the IVC school district. The pictures can be of nature, buildings, events, etc. Each participant can submit up to three photos. The club is getting ready for our annual *Garage Sale and Auction at the Casting Club, so start gathering up your items to donate. As always we have NO prices…This sale is a free-will offering!  We will be setting up the day before at the Casting Club, so you can drop your items off that day. Please bring only clean, usable items in good working condition to the sale. Watch for the new date.

After the garage sale comes *Flag Day June 13th & 14th when we will be back in force at some of the businesses and on a few street corners with our flags. Please donate and pick up a flag to help us provide scholarships for our youth and projects for our community.

Our breakfast meetings are on the first and third Saturdays of each month at Grecian Gardens at 8am. Come join us and learn all about our club and how we serve our youth and community in Chillicothe.
