Chillicothe Circle of Service
Scholarship Committee co-chairs Kitty Baxter and Marti Boyle (L) with Circle of Service scholarship winners Grant Bramer, Elaina Zick, Rezie Lynn and Macy McIntyre.
IVC Senior Honors Night was Wednesday, May 14, and Chillicothe Circle of Service was proud to present five scholarships to deserving graduating seniors. Three $2,000 awards were presented to Rezie Lynn, Macy McIntyre, and Elaina Zick by Scholarship Committee co-chairs Kitty Baxter and Marti Boyle. A $1,000 trade school scholarship was given to Grant Bramer. President Carol Solis awarded a $1,300 scholarship to Sydney Howell funded by Nancy Wilson Memorial contributions and donated by her family. We congratulate these students!
As part of our mission to provide education and educational opportunities to the community, a Little Free Library (LFL) is now available at Santa Fe Park, complementing the one at Shore Acres Park. These two book-sharing boxes allow children and adults to read a book without needing a library card. They may take the book home, even keep it if they choose. People may also add their own book(s) to the Little Free Library to share with others. Many books have been donated by Circle of Service members, and we hope to keep both LFLs stocked for a long time. Thanks to the Chillicothe Park District for doing the installation.
Supporting the Community Needs Agency has always been one of our top priorities, and members displayed their generosity again in May by donating a trunkful of personal needs items. Darlene Kumpf, CNA President, thanked Circle of Service for providing so many needed things, including toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorants, shampoo, body wash, shaving cream, and lots of other products.
