Chillicothe officially welcomed a new health and wellness destination this summer with the opening of Midwest Wellness Lounge, owned by lifelong resident Tracy Hedden. The business opened its doors on June 12, 2025, and celebrated with a Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 9, 2025. Several Chamber members and community attended, and Mayor Hughes presented Hedden with the key to the city, thanking her for investing in the community.

Midwest Wellness Lounge offers services for those seeking relief from pain, fatigue, stress, weight gain, or chronic health challenges. Hedden’s inspiration for the business is deeply personal. “My mother passed at a young age from cancer, and years later, my cousin was diagnosed with cancer along with so many other close friends and family,” she shared. “I started researching ways to fight cancer, and an infrared sauna was one of the most important modalities for healing the body.”

After purchasing a sauna for her cousin—who sadly lost her battle—Hedden knew she wanted to dedicate herself to helping others. With more than 25 years as an EMT volunteer and a background in health and fitness, including teaching kickboxing, she decided retirement from the corporate world was the perfect time to follow her passion.

Hedden chose Chillicothe not only because it’s her lifelong home, but also because she’s seen firsthand the health challenges many residents face. “This small town is truly built on family and friends supporting one another,” she said.

Midwest Wellness Lounge offers a unique approach through its partnership with Crothers Chiropractic. Together, they provide cryotherapy, infrared sauna treatments—including a state-of-the-art sauna pod—science-based nutrition analysis, personal strengths coaching, ozone therapy, and chiropractic services.
