What’s Happening in Chillicothe... October 2025

This month City Council will be finalizing the Comprehensive Plan thanks to a partnership with Tri-County Regional Planning Commission. The process included a Comprehensive Plan committee, multiple community engagement meetings, interviews, surveys, and presentations from experts. The process took over a year to complete and will reflect the community’s shared vision regarding development, infrastructure, and quality of life. It is our blueprint for the future.
Check out the new tree carving sculpture on Walnut next to Faraway Mercantile. Our Shademakers Beautification Committee worked with local carver, Tim Gill, to create this project. Stunning! This aligns with the Marketing and Tourism strategy to repurpose dead or declining trees into public art stump carvings to achieve goals of beautification, tourism attraction, and strengthening civic pride.
The Bradley Avenue Drainage Project has been substantially completed, with cleanup and final seeding to come, as well as a punch list final review. The Cloverdale Road mill and overlay project is completed, including striping the bike path. Other road work completed on Evergreen, Benedict, Santa Fe from Walnut to Truitt, Biren, and Wilson.
